Little Shop Of Horrors, has been gracefully transformed for an intimate studio theatre setting. Presented entirely by final year degree students, challenged to breathe new life into this beloved tale.
Set against the backdrop of the downtrodden Skid Row, where shattered dreams and dead-end lives prevail. Amidst the grit and gloom, hope blooms unexpectedly for Seymour, a modest flower shop assistant, when he unearths a peculiar new plant - one with an insatiable hunger and sinister potential.
Watch as Seymour's pursuit of newfound fame and riches becomes entwined with his longing for the affection of Audrey, a tender-hearted and delicate soul. Can he break free from the clutches of despair and secure his happiness, no matter the cost? As the story unfolds, witness the sacrifices Seymour is willing to make to realise the life he envisions.
Little Shop Of Horrors bursts forth as a horror comedy rock musical, paying homage to Roger Corman’s delightfully eccentric film, penned by Charles Griffith. Echoing with beloved tunes such as "Skid Row (Downtown)," "Somewhere That’s Green," and "Suddenly, Seymour," this stage adaptation is a musical journey into the heart of the extraordinary and the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Howard Ashman's poignant book and lyrics are seamlessly woven into the fabric of the production, while the music of Alan Menken, known for his iconic compositions in Disney classics like Aladdin and Hercules, weaves a sonic tapestry that underscores the emotional depth of the narrative.
