This two year Foundation Degree in dance will equip you to teach, choreograph and perform dance at a professional level. This course is unique as you will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of dance styles including; Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Street Dance techniques, Improvisation, Contact Improvisation, Physical theatre, and Commercial Dance.The course enables you to teach in professional, education and community settings, resulting in highly skilled practitioner’s which are fully prepared for current dance industry trends. - This programme will develop your dance skills through daily technique classes, workshops and productions in order for you to develop the ability to perform a wide range of dance techniques. - Through the practical exploration of dance performance, teaching practice and choreography you are encouraged to approach your study in an independent and professional way. - You will gain an in-depth understanding of current teaching practices and have opportunities for professional placement within the course. As part of the programme of study will have the opportunity to take part in an annual residential trip in order to take part in classes and watch productions.Practical training in dance and dance teaching is balanced with vital academic studies for dance today. - You will gain a strong understanding and ability to achieve within the diverse performing arts industry and you will be a part of dynamic, friendly and challenging community of people.

FdA - 96 UCAS Tariff points, English (4/C), applicants are required to attend an audition and interview. Drama and/or Dance at AS/A2 Level, BTEC National Diploma in Dance/Drama/Performing Arts, AVCE in Performing Arts. An overall Merit grade will be expected. Students without a formal qualification will be considered individually.
